Does anyone know who supplied these to Cabela's? I am wanting to send them in to be refurbished, I dropped them a while back and while they don't fog internally, I would like to have them checked out.

Thanks

My guess is NOT EUROS!!!

2002 probably Tasco. I don't remember exactly when they went to China.

I assume that your chances of getting them serviced are near zero.

Someone else may have better info on the service issue.

I can guarantee that they are not Tasco, they may be Alaskan Guide series, but I was thinking Euro. I found a 8x pair that looked similar and they were Euros, only reason I thought that. I paid well in excess of $400, probably closer to $500 when I bought them around 2000-2002. I bought a coworker a pair of 10x for his retirement and they were about $350ish out the door.

I sent an email to Cabela's, we'll see if I get an answer.

Back when some of Tasco's lines were made in Japan, they may well have had some $400 binos. There aren't many optical companies in Japan(Hakko and whoever made B&L???) Sightron, Nightforce, March, Maven and Vortex do not have plants in Japan. Tasco did not either. They bought Japanese products made to their specs.

Cabela's likely did not do anything directly, but rather bought a re-labeled product from a company like Tasco or Sightron.

When did B&L get out of the bino business?

They're Tasco. 99% sure that Swift and Optex were no longer selling anything Japanese by 2000. Simmons, and Bushnell would have required cosmetic differences to distinguish themselves from competing brands.

I would have never thought they were Tasco!

I have gotten my moneys worth out of them, I will probably leave them in the deer blind at the lease and buy me a new set of Leica's or Swarovski's, probably a set of ranging binos.

It's hard to believe they are Tasco, but no denying it. Everything I looked at when I bought these, with the exception of the Steiner, Swarovski and Leica didn't compare to these.

Have a great Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year!

Thanks Darryle
