Bullet Swaging

Has anyone had experience with or consider making their own bullets.

I would suppose that almost everyone has 'considered' making their own bullets......right up to the point were they figured the cost/turn around time on dies/acquisition of components/tools etc, and so forth.

There are many benchrest shooters that make their own. Elkaholic, here, makes his own.

There are bunches of headaches associated with bullet making. Read Bergers bulletin on their web page regarding the new hybrid 338 offering. There ain't no free lunch.

Plus you can't even hand some you've made to a buddy w/o an FFL.

I've been working on filling a major void for one specific caliber and its been months and tons of time and dollars and I'm not there quite yet.

Ya gotta really want to do it.

Run of the mill dies are in the hundreds of dollars.

Very good life long dies are thousands.

More power to ya if you really have the desire.
