I've got a new 7 saum due back from the gunsmith soon and curious what others are using.

It's an anti-x action and barrel is a 24" 1:8 Benchmark and main use will be a do it all light rifle for deer, elk and bears from 200-700 yds on average.

Have plenty of R23, R26, and H4350 to feed it for a while but curios what bullets most are using.

I have 280AI and have had 100% success with Berger 168g & 180g VLDs (elk & large Kansas whitetails & muleys). Bought some 140g Absolute Hammers but have not yet used them.

I have a few bullets to try, including the 175 Berger EH. Good luck!

I remember reading somewhere that in the 7saum RL23 and a 180 Berger Hyb is a great combo. I didn't have any 23 when I did my load development and had a pile of H4831 so I just used that. Shot unbelievably well just didn't light the chrono up. I think I was at 2780. I was using ADG brass

I have a 7 SAUM that I run RL26 in with a 180 Berger HVLD. I'm at 2900 fps and its a great combo. Probably killed 40 animals with it including 3 eland in Africa. Mostly 1 shot kills. Deadly combo.
