Borden Alpine 'Repeater' action, Bartlein 5R Cut Rifled Barrel - 1 in 8" Twist, 22.5" (700 Varmint Contour - Fluted by Bartlein) Jewell Trigger, Bell & Carlson 'Light Tactical' BDL Floorplate, Talley mounts (D&T for 8x40s), Weight per UPS scale 8.0 (rounds in .25 increments) Smithed by Don Geraci (Hall of Fame BR shooter). Reamer is one used for Silhouette shooters w/about a .100 shorter throat per Don. No turn, min Saami Spec. Round count (65 rounds). Rifle was tested for accuracy using new unfired Nosler brass, it shot 4 rounds (last 4 loaded I had left that day) of 140 AMAX into .196 using a 10x scope. Also shot a 5 shot group using new Nosler brass/140 Sierra Matchkings/powder measured, not weighed: 4 of 5 less than .5", total group about 5/8", not put a mic on it. There was no load work up. Lapua is now making/selling 260 stamped brass and promises the ultimate in 260 accuracy! This gun has outstanding potential with a little load work and a higher magnification scope. HSM, Black Hills, and CorBon mfg. Match grade ammo in 260 Rem and this rifle takes factory ammo. See (www.snipercentral.com/match260ammo.htm).

Re: Borden Alpine Repeater in .260 Remington

No sir, but my own experience shown the 6.5x55 having about 30 fps per inch reduction from 24 to 21" over a Chrony (and it's within 2 grains case capacity of a 260), so I am confident this will give within 40-50 fps of an identical 24" rifle.

Speeds would be expected in the 2750-2800 range, or a tad more. Some are using RL17 which gives another 100fps or more. But no, never ran any over a chrony, sorry.

One of my favorite shooting friends has several of Mr. on's builds. Mr. Don is a magician. I shot my best 800 yard group with a Don build.
