Any recommendations on Dura Coat removal?

I was thinking of sand blasting but particles remaining in the bore gives me the vapors, even with heavy cleaning........

Place a foam ear plug in each end of the bore and use a ziplock
bag to cover your action and then mask it well before blasting
and this will keep the sand out.

If the action has dura coat on it then make a plug of foam for the
chamber.

I use a lot if aircraft stripper on stocks but I would'nt use it on stainless
because of the clorides in it.(causes cloride stress corroision cracking)

If your barrel is chrome molly then it might be ok.

I prefer sand blasting or bead blasting depending on the type of finish
you want.

Remove or repaint?

I doubt you'll ever get back to the appearance of your original finish. Sand or carefully blast and then re spray with the duracoat finish of your choice. You don't have to take it back to the metal - as long as there is a key for the new paint and everything looks even go for it. If you mess up ....start again.
