Closing this thread doesn't really seem fair to ABM. Here they start a thread to announce a product that is of interest to long range hunters and it devolves into this. I think what is lacking here is the presence of a good moderator to keep things on track. Keeping things on track would be talking about the specifics of the products currently being offered, finding out the velocities, consistency, etc. of their current offerings and maybe learning more about the vision for this new company for the future. If you want to debate Berger's published BC numbers, Michael has started a thread to do just that. People can choose to read it/participate in it...or not. A good moderator could easily and fairly confine this discussion to the topic as presented by the original poster. I'm all for pursuit of truth and accountability, but I don't think what has happened here is fair to ABM, Berger, or Bryan. They've worked hard to build a well deserved reputation. By not providing a moderator, LRH has put them in a position of having to expend a great deal of energy defending themselves against a sniping attack. It would be in LRH's best interest to prevent this sort of thing through use of a moderator. Not easy to be "fair" in all cases, but worthwhile none the less if the moderator is principled, impartial and intelligent. The goal would be to strike the right balance of a free flowing discussion and accountability coupled with a fair process for all participants. A set of known, well thought out, guiding principles would help the moderator do his job and help the community of participants understand the moderator's decisions. Not everyone will always agree, but it would be a step forward and would be of value to LRH.
