So I've decided to give the 230's a go once my gun is finished and was curious if anyone on here is having success with them? Any starting points would be awesome, I plan on having bullets ready for when I get it home. I've also heard the 230's can vary box to box and take some work to get me dialed in. Thanks

I shoot em out of mine. 26" proof barrel with a saami spec chamber. Once fired nosler brass and 90.5 grns retumbo gives me about 2960fps. They're a good long range hunting bullet but I shot a muley this year that was too far from any high point and I had to put the sneak on way out in the flats at roughly 120 yards and it absolutely blew up on the entrance side. Didn't exit and ruined a bunch of meat. 4" hole through the ribs. 400+ yds out to 750 have been very good and consistent results though. I'd start about 85grains of h-1000 and 86-87 with retumbo. N-570 and Rl-33 will give faster speeds though as well as possibly 8133. I just don't have any experience with any of them in the rum personally.

N570 is the ticket for both accuracy and speed in mine. 26 inch 9.4 twist proof, .035 off the lands, ADG brass.

Start at about 89 grains and work up just to be safe. I ran it as high as 3100fps with excellent sub 1/4 minute accuracy.

It lists them to be used in a 1:9 twist or faster, my barrel is gonna be a 1:10. Wondering if that's gonna be a problem?

1 in 10 is fine depending on your elevation. Accuracy should still be good, worst case you lose a few percent on your bc.

Yeah I was running #'s on their site. Said BC would go from 717 to 713

My bbl is 1 in 10" and the bc on the box has worked good for me. Played around out to a mile but nothing serious at elr really. I'm at 3300' elevation.

I run the 230s in my .300RUM.
28" 1:10" Rock Creek
R700 w. Wyatt's box

Nosler brass
CCI250
91.3gr Retumbo
230 Berger Hybrid
3068fps

Have shot squirrels to elk, coyotes from 80 to 1365 yards, elk from 160ish out to 882. A squirrel @ 1201. Everything is DRT. Never had one blow up, and all have exited.

Final.load 3 shots @ 200

A couple groups @ 200 during seating depth testing
