What am I missing here? I pulled a bullet from the factory Barnes ammo and it is different then the box of Barnes bullets I have. Both say 120g ttsx bt. Is one an old version?

I know Sierra does this, the 7mm 150gr Gameking loaded on Federal Ammo is different than the bullets of the shelf. The one used on Federal Ammo for thw 7mm Rwm Mag has a cannelure to avoid jacket core separation.

morning, what is the difference? please do not feel offended.
does the bullet have a tip color according to caliber?
curious, I shoot a lot of barnes bullets, BUT I load
my own. please give more info. justme gbot tum

morning, now the seating grooves r cannelures. normally
used for semi-auto's to crimp the bullet under recoil and
for very large=heavy caliber bullets. in given circumstances
the grooves can be moved buy the manufacture for heavier
weight bullet. measure the length of the pulled bullet, weight of the bullet.
take another bullet made by the same manufacture with the same
markings, measure and weight the bullet. see if the bullets
r of same weight and length? if everything is the same. the
manufacture changed something in the procedure of making
these bullets. as long everthing is the same.
go have fun. justme gbot tum
