This stock came off my 300wm. It shot very well and the barrel channel was inletted by my gunsmith to hold a custom Bartlein contour of .030"" under a Sendero contour.

Would this stock fit a hinged floor plate 700 BDL?
Hey tjb1960,
I was checking on your floorplate when I noticed a hairline crack on the forend.
Then I started looking all over the stock with a magnifying glass and found the stock had hairline cracks everywhere!

You can't see them with the naked eye.

I am pulling this stock off sale and will talk to Bell and Carlson.
I won't and don't screw over anybody...

Randy

Randy thanks !

Kinda shakes my confidence in B&C. Would you post what kind of response you get from B&C.

Thanks Thomas

I called Bell and Carlson on Thursday.
I told them about all the hairline cracks in the stock.
I was asked if I had exposed the stock to extreme heat.
The rep then went on to tell me that a customer had gone on a hunt in the desert and his stock EXPLODED!
I was told that the foam in the stock expands in high heat!

I was given a return authorization and sent it in to them.

I hope B&C comes up with a good solution or I will try a Grayboe stock.

I just received the stock back from Bell and Carlson today.
They refinished the paint job on my original stock and put new swivel studs on.
I don't see any of the hairline cracks that were there before.
Unfortunately, the packing slip was generic and did not explain what was done.
I will be calling them for an explanation.

Well I called B&C this am.
I thanked them for repairing my stock.
I asked if they could give me an explanation of what happened with the stock as nothing was noted in the packing slip.
The rep said that they don't put info with the returned stock because they try to rush them back out as quickly as possible.
I told them I wanted to know if the stock was safe to shoot.
She said if it wasn't, they would have called me.
So I asked, "So then it was strictly cosmetic issues?".
She just said "Yes".
I will let you all be the judge.
Personally, I would like a more detailed answer then that.
