Anyone ever had this happen?

I bought a new in the box 308 sps tactical I got it home shot it and it shoots awesome .4 group 168 gold metal match well I was cleaning the barrel and noticed it wasn't stamped 308 on the barrel like my other 21 model 700s there always on the left side of the barrel but nothing anywhere on this gun?

I recently saw an old Winchester 88 that didn't have a caliber stamp.
It had the Winchester proof marks and was definitely a factory installed barrel.
Just so happens it was a 308 Win also.
