For me, the explanation usually comes down to $$$$$$. As I see the world, most people I have met are honest, hard-working souls who are eager to help others. Unfortunately, positive, upbeat, wholesome news simply does not sell. Watch the news this evening. It will almost always be filled with the negative, although the world is filled with positive. Like sex, negative sells. You want attention, increased readership, etc... then say something outrageous! The old adage still holds true: "keep your friends close and your enemies closer". We need to know what is being said about us, so that we can correct the rising misconceptions as this sport increases in popularity. Most shooters are going to be smart enough to figure things out in the end. Spend any time on this website and if you are serious - then you will become a convert (or at least walk away with a more positive opinion). I suspect the writer's experience is somewhat based in fact. There are probably some long range shooters who take unethical shots at game. We can't stop that from happening. We can only educate the public and encourage each other to do more and do it better. It is a privelege to be associated with each of you here on LRH.
