Acubond 270WSM

My friend has a Ruger M77 in 270WSM. He is loading RL19 and 140Gr Acubonds. I loaned him my Stoney Point OAL gage, but how far off the lands does he seat it? My Barnes say like.030-.050 inch( If I can remember) But he has no info on ho far back to seat the Acubonds. Any help would be great.

Try various depths. I have that Caliber,in a Win Mod 70. I seat some bullets to touch the lands. try seating them deep enougt to fit in the Magazine. Accubonds I shot a Boar in the head at 25 yds. All did was pierce the skull blow up in the neck bone and kill the poor thing instantly. No exit. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I almost always try to start at .010" off the LaG's, regardless of the bullet. Yes, even the Barnes. This is if it will fit in the magazine and it's purpose (i.e., hunting, targets, etc.). JohnnyK.
