I'm looking into the Berger 230 Hybrids just in case the 245s don't work out for me.
I'm totally confused about the actual bc of the 230 hybrid.
Berger has some data comparing it to a 230 OTM, which has a shorter tip, and they state the otm has a little less bc than the longer hybrid.
But... the bc for both is listed as .717.

To make this even more confusing must distributors have the hybrid bc listed as .743, and the otm at .717
Also I see some data calling for a 9 twist with the 230 hybrid, while other listing say 10 twist🤔
Can anyone clear this up, I'd really like to hear what people are using for their validated bc with the hybrids.
I'll be shooting them in an 8 twist
 
I shoot the OTM out of my 300RUM as I'm limited on length. I shoot them out of a 10 twist with no issues.
I believe the OTM is .710 and the other is .717. Berger updated their BC's a while back and some companies haven't updated that update. G7 should be OTM .364 and other .368.

If you look at the 215,220 and 230 hybrid. The .463 baring surface of the 215 vs the .515 and .529 of the 220 and 230 would make it so you will have very negligible advantage beyond a heavier payload. You should be able to make up the bc difference with extra velocity outside of a rum or norma etc. Moving to the 245 though would be different. I'm running a prc and the 225eld is the goal. I have run the 195tmk because I have some. I am expecting 500/215's this week to compare to the ladder I shot with 230's. If this is not the case I will post up what I find but that might be a month due to my workload at the moment.

Keep us updated as informed. I'm curious about real world & wind drift comparisons between the 215 & 225 eld compare if the 215 is pushed into a faster node than the 225.

I was wondering the same thing. Litz has it on AB at 385 and a bullet length of 1.681.

The 230 hybrid targets I'm shooting say 368 on the box and are 1.665 long.

368 worked for me out to 1200/1300ish yards.
