@ GrayCreed,..
Yup,. I had heard that, the ABLR's were better "Killers" ( as "softer" ) than, the reg. AB's !
Also had heard that, not everyone, could get them, to shoot well.
I'm starting to think about, using the 150 Grain, Ballistic Tips, as a replacement Bullet for, the 140 Classic Hunt, Berger's in my .270 WSM, in case, they don't work, as well as I think, they will. Most people, don't realize that the NBT's were RE-Designed about, 20 years ago. They were made TOUGHER, with a thicker Jacket, to Penetrate, better. NBT's are, a LOW cost, "sleeper Bullet" that's accurate and Kills, very well without, the FORMER ( 1990's ) meat, Destruction.
In my Testing, the BEST "Mushrooming" Bullet was, the 154 grain Horn. Interbond's, outta my 7mm Mag. as it produced, a .800 Dia., CLASSIC, "Shroom" with, a retained weight of, 118 grains. BUT, they were hard to get, to shoot "well" !
The Classic Bergers, were EZ Peasy, to get to shoot, SUB, 1/2 MOA for, me !
PS; the ELD-X's, ain't, a "Magic Bullet" either ! It shoots well, But it's, a "Hard" bullet, that Penetrates WELL, but with, poor Expansion.
My son, ended up, putting 3 of those, 150 gr. ELD-X's from his, 7mm-08 at 247 yards into, a nice 6x6 Bull, in Idaho.
He's switching over, to the 168 gr Berger HVLD's !
