[QUOTE="Joe King, post: 733807, member: 47325"] I've been following the whole deal, probably as much as everybody else, and it sickens me just as much as everybody else. The reactions though just flat **** me off. We've got Senators that have an A listing by the NRA throwing us under the bus, Obama and his cronies stepping on the dead to get up on their soap box to pander to the fear and hurt. And the **** of it is this isn't new, isn't the worst school shooting, it's not the biggest mass murder. But it sure as hell was preventable. Preventable by giving the defenseless either a way to defend themselves or providing defense for them, preventable by society at large saying yes this kid can turn into a problem. Kids that do these things don't come out of nowhere, they don't just flip like a switch, they develop, they ask for help that is never received their parents scream for help and are told "well there's nothing we can do until he commits a crime and is in the system". Then every body wants to be shocked and dismayed when this kid grows into a young man that doesn't know how to cope, even though mom and dad where at their wits end, tried to get help and got turned away. Folks there was 27 not 26 that didn't need to die that day, but society ignored that one and that turned to many more. I would put money on it that each and every one of us knows 2-3 kids that have the potential to do that kind of harm, these kids need to be engaged, they need to be recognized, it doesn't matter how it' done so much as that it's done with the intention of making a good impression on the kid. I'm not saying that we can stop it all that would be stupid to assume but if you and I can turn one around or help to turn one around, that's one you'll never hear about on the national news. This pandering done by the politicians in Washington is disgusting, and will do nothing but make matters worse, another gun restriction because the empty retarded ones on the books now work so well. I have been reading up on some quotes made by our founding fathers. Here's a link to them. I can't agree more with the what those smart sons a bitches understood 230years ago.
