[QUOTE="Magnus, post: 238589, member: 5484"] Shot this wide Mule deer with my new 300win Mag using 210gr Berger VLDs going 2821fps, gun was built by Joe Starnes and he was also my spotter on the shot, 15mph wind from right to left! Buck is over 33" but he only scored 160 5/8, which was a little disappointing but hes still a monster in my book!! Hes at the taxidermist as we speak! Shot him twice, hit right behind front shoulder first round hit, he went and laid down and then got back up so I placed a 2nd in the high shoulder and down he came, both first round hits! Joe Starnes builds on awesome rifle, and Ill be competing this coming year with this rifle too! Taxidermist said he would guess this deer is 10yrs and maybe 12yrs old, his back teeth were wore down to the gums Old deer! Took me 7hrs to get him off the mountain and back to the truck, we were back in there aways! In the pic of deer on its side those are the exit wounds making total pass threws! PS the black tape on his antler is my hunting licence taped to horns so I wouldnt loose it coming down the Mountain!
