Personally I think Dave hit the nail on the head.....at least a 5r in a 9 twist.

I think 9T will be fine @ the speed I will be pushing the 180's but I'm not really sure.

The worst case scenario is that you'll have to shoot the thicker jacket 175 SMK. At the very worst you'd be stuck with the 160 AB's which still has a descent BC for what it is.

How do the jackets hold up on the 162 A-Max...DO you think they will hold together in the 3 groove @ 3350+ ....THey have a real good BC, are CHEAP...and seem to work pretty good on deer size game.

Maybe, the 3 grove is IMHO tough on the jacket at this speed. Give them a try and see what happens...

2001, are you saying you're getting 3230 from a 7WSM with 180gr bulletts? that seems pretty fast. Hodgdon has the 175's maxing out in the mid 28xx's. is there any rifling in the barrel?
