7mm-08 with 150 + bullets

The 7-08 is a very capable round with the right load . With a short barrel and heavier bullets there going to be slow . There's not enough case capacity to really get them moving. If you went copper mono like a barns ttsx you could come down on weight and they hit hard . I'm currently pushing a ttsx 140 at 3055 with 51.3 gr staball6.5 and the 120 will do 3260 at 53 gr . Now I'm running them thru a 26 inch brux and you will loose some due to the short barrel.

With mine, 8" twist, I loaded 120g and 150g Ballistic Tips for the ex-wife, and I was using either the 150g BT or 168g ABLR. I was very impressed with the performance of both using Varget or H4350.

Cheers.

9 twist, 4 groove. 26" Brux. Stiller Predator action.
162g ELDM, 46-47g H4350
2750fps
This was my target load for years....VERY accurate to 1K.
Haven't killed anything w/ it yet.....just sold the comp chassis and put on a beautiful, classic BDL wood stock. Still shoots into .75 MOA at 300y after 4000+ rounds.

I use 175 Hornady flat base with Reloder 26 in my 7-08 for the rams at 500 meters. Accurate and so far they have all gone down when hit.
