7 rem mag velocity expectation

Also I tend to base my "ethical" hunting distance on my personal fartest 6 in grouping ability with a given rifle under moderate to extreme field conditions. This seems to "cut me off" alot sooner than energy and velocity do.
Nothing wrong with this. This tells me that you are wise enough to know your limitations, and just because a rifle can exceed one's limitations does not mean that it is okay to take a shot. To me an ethical shot can be at 50 yards to 1000 yards, if it is within your limits of experience and shooting.

3200 with a 140 and 2800'ish from a 175 is actually rather warm for a 7rem... I just don't push a 7 that hard anymore, whether it is a 7rem, stw, or rum... It simply isn't worth it. The rifles are a lot happier loaded milder and you might actually get some barrel life. My kid's Tikka 7rem is running a 140 sierra and enough rl22 to hit 3,000 fps. My 7stw is running a 140ab with rl25 to 3350 fps. My 7rum likes a 175 eld-x pushed to 2850 fps with h50bmg. I suppose I could push the 7rem and rum a bit, but they will dump rounds nearly touching at 200 yards..

I agree. Once you start pushing bullets at 3000fps or above, my belief is you definitely start burning barrels a lot quicker.
I like the idea of shooting a lighter bullet over 3000, but the pressure shouldn't be there to burn the barrel since I am only using 140s. I'm sure there are people pushing 140s to 3400 if you can get over 3000 with a 160

I chronoed my 180 load again yesterday and my barrel has sped up some. Pushing the 180 eld-m at 3056 fps. Sd of 5 es of 10

I am at about 2/3 -3/4 the way from starting loads to book max with these velocities. All the bullets are seated .100" longer than book COAL. Plenty of room off the lands as well. When I shot the Saterllee ladder the velocity went up to 2884 for the 175 and 3256 for the 140 TTSX. I didn't want to go up any higher since it ended up being more accurate lower

Federal loads that exact same 175 gr Fusion bullet in their 7 RM Fusion ammo. The muzzle velocity for the loaded ammo is only 2760 fps.
Their premium load 175 Bear Claw only runs at 2750
Barrel length AND the bearing surface of the bullet can have a big effect on velocity. The Fusion bullets have a long bearing surface. So they will be somewhat slower.

The bullets Creedmoor Shooter uses have a much smaller bearing surface. Plus he is loading RL26 behind them. (which is basically cheating anyways!) LOL

So I don't think your 175 Fusions are running slow at all.
