6.5x284 LRH Barnes 127 Grain LRX?

I used a chronograph for the first time today. I am shooting a 6.5x284 LRH with 127 Barnes LRX bullets. My load is 44.6 grains of imr 4350. My elevation is 4222 and the temp was around 85 degrees. I was getting readings right around 2900 fps. Does that seem reasonable for this load? Judging from the sierra manual THEIR 120 grain bullets should get about 2900 with that load. I just haven't used a chronograph before and I am trying to work out my drops etc. and I want to make sure I am using it right.

Never used that powder, but here is my load for the 127.

6.5-284 Lapua Brass
50.0 grains of H4350
127 LRX jumping .030"
29" Rock Creek barrel
MV= 3140 fps over chrony and verified with dope.

They make for a devastating hunting round.

Just be careful, as this load is very close to MAX pressure in my rifle.

Seems like you should get more velocity. However if you have great accuracy and consistent mv then just leave it alone.

I tried it again today. I got 2900 fps again with 44.6 grains of 4350 and 3175 with 48.5 grains. This time the I could tell when the chrono was messing up I think. There was a really big difference in a couple shots. A couple shots were high or low by around a thousand feet per second, so I think the light or wind is messing with the machine some. I did weigh out every load.

That seems in the ballpark to me. Same bullet, same rifle at 6600 ft I was reading just over 3k with 48.0 grains of IMR4350, Lapua brass, GM210M primers.
