6.5-284 Custom Long Range Rifle
Rifle is an absolute tack driver with my best groups measuring .39. Throated for 140 grain Berger VLD's. Barrel has been broke in using a tried and true method that increases accuracy and stabilizes muzzle velocities. Scope is a Huskamaw 5-20 LR with a 1000 yd custom drop turret. Scope rings are talley one piece rings that have been hand lapped. Rifle with scope weighs just under 10 lbs.
Rifle is made up of the following components listed below:
Stiller predator action
26 inch Broughton 5-C #5 match grade barrel. Finished with a 1x8 twist and 25.5 in length
Remington bottom metal
Jewel Trigger
Bell & Carlson sporter stock with aluminum bedding block (very very similar to the mcmillian edge)
Rifle also comes with Redding Competition die set, 130 pieces of laupua brass, and 50 rounds of custom ammo, plus the load recipe for tack driving accuracy. It currently has 150 rounds down the tube and is in like new condition. I have taken elk, deer, antelope, and coyote, all with one shot kills. I think this is one of the best all around calibers ever produced for all critters in the lower 48. This thing is scary accurate out to a 1000 yds. If you follow the hunting shows by Best of the West/ Gunwerks, this gun has identical components as their LR1000 with the exception of the stock.
$3900 gets you a 1000 yd rifle ready to go. Compare that to the LR1000 dialed and ready at over 8K and I think you'll agree that's a pretty good deal.
I can email more pics of the rifle. I have several.
