A lot of people would tell you to use the search option on here to get some data. There is a very long tread on here with a lot of aswome 6.5 info. But most guys are around 57grns to book max. Seating depth is different for each rifle but seem about the .075 off the lands seem to be the ball park. For me....

Load is running around 2930ish but the ES is about 20fps which is causing some shots to be a bit off at 1000yards. At 100 yards its shooting .5 to .6 MOA. My 1000 yards is more like 1.2 to 1.5 MOA...I'm not sure if its the gun, me are the load. I know after the barrel get a little warm it seem to settle down a little and tightens up. Its a factory savage 116. It not a max load in this rifle is about upper middle of the line. The rifle seem to do best when my loads have been closer to max or just right at max. I was trying not to wreck the brass so fast on this go around. I'm probably going to test a few different primers, and start tweaking the load upward a few tenths of a grain to see what happens. Currently as the gun sets with this load I would still take a 6 to 700 yard shot. I would like to be completely confident with the 1000yard shot if it was the only one I had.
I have had no burn issues running Retumbo in a 24" barrel with either standard or magnum primers.
Mine is also a 26" Barrel (Broughton 5C). Would u say load data for Retumbo and H1000 is relatively the same?? I think I'm going to try both. I've run up to max in my rifle with 7828SSC @ 52.3 grains and my speed is 2904. I would like to be closer to 3000.
Another option would be H4831sc given your barrel length. It has a faster burn rate and a little lower velocity but can be very accurate. I think H4350 could give you the best balance of good velocity, and burn rate in a 20" barrel. H!000 might be too slow in the short barrel.

I shoot 53gr of H 4831sc Fed 210 140 Berg 2966 Velocity at 40tho off lands produces less than 1/2 MOA at 200 ,and holds half out to 1000 if I do my part . No flat primers or pressure signs this is out of a 26" benchmark. I tried Retumbo it worked OK ,and I probably could have gotten better if I tried harder but the powder fouling was horrible .
If this one did not shoot so good I may look at H 1000 If I can get my hands on some HSM factory ammo I may try a box just to see what I get as I belive they use H 1000.

First, Im actually shocked you can get 2966 out of that load with H4831SC in a 26" Barrel. I have a buddy who shoots that exact load (albeit .020 off) in a Benchmark 30" Barrel and his speed is right at yours.
I have also heard that H1000 burns much cleaner than Retumbo

Well be as shocked as you want the numbers don't lie verified to 1200 yards I can take a video tonight of the speeds of the chrono ,and shoot the load out for you .
Also this load was developed by the guy above my first post who gets the same velocities as I do in his Cooper 6.5 and Savage LRH thats where I got my load from ,and another fella that I shoot with regularly shoots a similar load at 53.4GR 2973 on the same chrono out of a 26 Bartlin Barrel . Must be all special rifles
Berger manual is with 26" barrel 51GR 2753 so at 53 2966 is right in there.

I see no difference between the two in terms of how clean they burn. Retumbo is a bit slower burn rate and generally will produce higher velicities in my 6.5-284's and 300WM.
Not shocked in a negative way.... Just shocked is all... Thats a big diff in barrel length. If you guys are getting 2966, you would think he would be over 3000 with a 30" tube
