What are your experiences with the 140g Berger hybrid as a hunting bullet? I've been target shooting them out of my .260 Rem for a couple of years and they shoot awesome and they also did a nice job on a couple of antelope but looking to see what others experience has been.

I drew a bighorn sheep tag in my home state of Oregon this year and my .260 will be my back up rifle. I built a .280AI this last winter with the hope of one day using it as a sheep rifle then I'll be damned if I didn't go and draw the tag! I've got the 168g Berger hunting VLD's shooting well out of it and it will be my primary gun. Just curious about the 140's so any thoughts appreciated.

This has been discussed before, but something I follow as I am shooting the same bullet out of my 6.5-284 and also plan on using them on my upcoming Wyoming hunt. Also is was discussed on snipershide: http://forum.snipershide.com/snipers-hide-hunting-fishing/232417-berger-hybrids-hunting.html. Many different pages also.

Thanks and I did go through that process before I posted, but as you can see by reviewing the two links you provided, there really wasn't much, if any, feedback from last hunting season so I was hoping to get some new updates. I'll check over on the Hide and read up there as well which I have not done.

I shoot the 140 VLD's in my 6.5. It shoots good... 1/2 inch. I been trying the 230 hybrid in my 300rum, It was very easy to dial in and I'm getting .3 inch group at 200yrds. If there anything like the 230's then I would suspect they will be a lot less sensitive to seating depth and quicker to find a good load. I would expect them to be very similar to the 142 sierra which is another good 6.5 bullet.
