ok I just bought a Ruger M77 Hawkeye African chambered in .375 Ruger. Have any LRH members got any experience reloading this round and if so would you care to share some of your info. This is a new round to me but it seems to look the part.

I have a Savage Weather Warrior with a factory installed 26" barrel. Hodgdon's manual is online and I find it pretty much maximum. Western Powder just combined their Accurate and Ram Shot manuals and they are pretty hot loads.

The Nosler 300 grain AB is long and takes up a lot of space. The 260 AB is excellent but both are hard to find. Just starting with the Speer 270 SpBT and the Sierra 300 GMK. If you can find some Barnes 250 TTSX most people are doing well with it.

Best load so far is 79.5 grains WW760,#215Fed primer, and the Nosler 260 AB. This is a smoking hotmax load but is 3022fps AV w/ 9 SD in my 26" barrel. Cannot get the velocity I want with IMR 4350 and can't find some of the other powders I want to try.

You will find the case burns very consistently. About 6-8 grains more than the H&H.
I really love mine!!!

I have a 24" Pac-Nor 3 groove on a Winchester action and have used RL17 exclusively. When I started there was no data cause both the 375 Ruger and RL17 were relatively new. So I started real low and worked up (as anyone using this data should also). Only used 2 bullets the 260 AB and the 270 TSX

For accuracy sake and shooting in hot or cold and just because it is plenty for anything I will shoot at I backed down to this TSX load

I use RE17 in my Ruger African .375 Ruger with excellent results. I started using RE17 before there was any data available and worked my loads up gradually. My current load is 80 grains of RE17, 300 grain Nosler Accubonds, CCI LRM 250 primers, and Hornady once fired brass. I'm shooting .75" groups @ 100 yards and chronoed my loads at 2750.

Nosler has since published data for RE17 and I'm 2 grains over their max load with no pressure signs. My load is a 100% load for case capacity with a 300 grain bullet.
