The 338 Mega, Rum, Edge all seem to be top of the heap these days but I do find the 33 Nosler to be interesting as well. I just don't need that much speed, distance, or recoil in my life. I have been shooting a regular 338 WM for over 30 years and have taken the majority of my big game with it. Never had a problem shooting it well and nearly are were one shot and drop. Just got a nice Texas Aoudad with it last fall. These days I would probably choose a 338 Norma which is pretty popular abroad. Just seems like a good fit for my shooting and reloading skills. My point is figure out where you will have the most fun during the build and the shooting time that follows. Then just go for it....
