338 Edge barrel

I'm building a 338 edge. What is the best barrel and twist to get?

Best is hard to say. My new build is gonna have a Brux on it. If you're planning on shooting 300's I'd go with a 9.5 twist. Most people are shooting anywhere from 9.3 to 10

I have had best results with Lilja and Bartlein. I have used 9,9.3,9.5, and 10 twist . I like the 10 twist best. Heavier barrels are easier to make consistent hits with at long distances. Gary

My 338 Lapua has a 10 twist gun)and shoots 300 Gr Berger real nice.

I have a Benchmark 9.3 in 338LM that shoots nice. 28", gets 2825fps with a Berger 300 OTM at max charge of Retumbo. Accurate and not prone to fouling. Nothing but good things to say about it.

My 338 Edge has a 30" 9.5 twist Obermeyer bbl that sends 300 gr Accubonds at 2900 fps into a nice triangular 1/2" cluster at 100 yards but will not shoot the 300 gr Berger OTM's or Hunters into less than 2" at 100, going to do up another barrel for the rifle in 338 Edge with a 30" 9.3 twist 5R Bartlein specifically for the Berger bullets, 338 Bartlein barrels and 338 Berger bullets seem to be made for each other
