Thanks for the reply. I would allow you $1000 on your Ruger African that you offered as a trade option. Originally, I only want to sell this rifle, therefore, if you are interested, you would be responsible for all shipping to and from Alaska and balance of trade which would be $4000. I just had a question from looking at the pics, I can't really tell but what is the object on the action between the bolt handle and the ejection port? It looks like a small carabiner for climbing or attaching something to it? My eyes aren't what they used to be but the curiosity is getting the best of me....does it have a function or is it there to show the scale of the action?

I believe it is there just to cover the serial number.
