I just got a MPA 338BA in LM. It has a lot of nice features and the price wasn't too hateful! They claim it will shoot 1/2 inch or better? Mounting a ATACR on it this weekend. Here's their link...I Can't Wait!

Nothing fancy with this over the counter Savage 110 FCP. It has a 20 MOA rail. The scope is a Nightforce 5.5X22X56 NSX. I have a backpack style sling from the Longrange store.

Got to see a 338 RUM with 300s in action in the RSA, hunting plains game. Jim, one of our group wanted a trophy Black Wildabeast bull. PH told him the Black was one more tough critter, hard to kill, the night before we went out. So we came upon a big heard at about 1,000 yards and drove around them until we got to within about 500 yards down in a depression and parked behind a ridge. PH told Jim there was a big black in the heard, but Jim would need to crawl up closer. So off Jim goes on hands and knees, Jim crawled about 200 yards to the top of a little high spot about 300 yards out from the black. I am standing behind the truck glassing the group and Jim with bios through the yellow grass. When Jim touched off the round, I blinked, then no bull and critters scattered like rabbits. But I had seen the dirt colhum come up from behind the bull's back. Drove down and there the bull was, right where I thought he would be, never took a step, good shot and great killing power. The blacks have been known to run over a mile after being lung shot with a 375 H&H.

Jim had to go to the nurse, he had crawled about 150 yards through bull head thorns, on the ground, then laid in them, to shoot. Outstanding Determination.... he looked like an orange patched scare crow wearing his shorts that night.

Rifle really likes 250 grain partitions, likes 250 Gr Accubond even more.
2950 FPS with either bullet. Pushed the Accubond to 3000 FPS with both Rl 26 and H1000 but that was too much.
Taken 20 elk from 30 yards to 481 most have been around 300.

Custom Remington 700 338 Lapua
The Rifle is based on a Remington 700 stainless action. Chambered in .338 Lapua mag and blueprinted.
It has an oversize tactical bolt handle. Bolt was spiral fluted and has an m16 extractor. Oversize fluted firing pin with heavy spring.
TIMNEY trigger at about 1.5 lbs.
The action has had the base screw holes drilled and tapped for 8-40 base screws.
The rifle has a marine corps m40 recoil lug and a Lilja stainless steel M24 contour barrel that is 26.5 inches long plus the advanced armament corps muzzle brake. The brake is designed to accommodate the AAC Titan QD suppressor. It has a button rifle 6 groove 1/10 twist.
Barreled action assembly is cerakoted in graphite black. Rides in a Cadex dual strike chassis cerakoted in flat dark earth. Buttstock folds to the bolt side and is adjustable for length of pull, butt pad height, and comb height. Accuracy International 5 round mag.
Optic:
Nightforce 5-25x56 BEAST F1 with the T3 reticle mounted with a Nightforce 20 MOA Compact Mag Mount.
