I have a light weight hunting rifle that has proven to be very accurate and its a Browning A-Bolt 300. wsm. I am in the debate of building a long range 300. wsm for hunting purposes and targets. Saves barrel life compared to the RUM and still has plenty of energy.

which one of you guys use this caliber for long range hunting or target shooting? what is your loads?

Winning load at the Williamsport original 1000yd benchrest competition record of 2.8" is a 300WSM. Currently holds the world record of smallest group at 1000yds. He was shooting between 61-63 grains of H4350, F210M, Win brass, and Berger 210 bullet. It will perform very well on target and hunting. I used one to crack a skull on a groundhog at 605, and two others in the vitals at 628 and 648 yards. No deer yet, but cousin may get a chance this year.
