I am about to order a Lilja 3-groove for my 300 RUM Rem 700. It will be in a 27" Sendero contour. I am leaning toward the 1-9" twist, and I will only be shooting 210gr - 240gr bullets.

Can anyone tell me what their experience is with a 1-9" 300 RUM.

Can anyone tell me why I SHOULDN'T go with a 1-9" twist rate in a 3 groove?

Thanks

I have a 1 in 10 and stack 230 grain Bergers at 3005 in the same hole. I do not know how it could get any better!

I am assuming you meant 300 yards....not 3005? I know a 1-10" will stabilize a 230gr Berger at that range....but how does it do past 1500 yards? Also...what is your pet load for the 230's? Thanks

3005 feet per second. 1.7" at 880 yards. I do not know at 1500 yards. H1000 and CCI 250 primers. Hart 28" with Defensive Edge Brake built by Dallas at Lane Precision.

I'd go with the 9 twist !

If you end up going on a hunt where lead is prohibited for hunting you can go with the solids from Cutting Edge , they recommend 9.5 Twist or faster

the Cutting Edge Lazer bullets needs the 9 twist .... plus ya never know ... heard rumors of a 30 cal 250 gr bullet
