I'm alittle behind on Load development for the upcoming season in October. But I'm looking to load for the 280 Ackley improved using 140 gr Berger VLD hunting bullets. I have cci br2 primers and for powder H1000 and H4831SC. I also have cci 250 magnum primers on hand. Does anybody have any load data for this? Thank you

Is there any reason why you're shooting the 140's over the 168's? Just curious...

Also, if you do try the 168's or 180's, give IMR 7828 SSC a try.

I had a box of 140 Berger VLD given to me . I used 140 sierra btsp last year when I had a 280 Rem and they did a great job on muley and antelope. Used all the sierra bullets up last season. Now I have a box of 140 Berger VLD and had the chamber reamed to 280 Ackley. I fireformed some brass on Friday with some corelokts I had pulled years back.

I don't think I'll have time to run to reloading store to buy any new powder. That's why I asked if any had loads for Hodgdon H1000 & H4831sc

If using the 168's and 180, I have heard H1000 will work fine. Might be a bit slow for the 140's, but I don't know that to be fact.

Have you checked Reloader's Nest?

Sorry I can't help with the 140's. But I do use H4831SC in my 280AI with Berger 168 classic hunters. Works great but velocity seems a tad slow at 2880 fps. Cooper with a 24" barrel.

I'm getting 2975fps with my 24" bbl with 168 VLDs.....it shoots Real Good!

StX. What barrel and also which powder are you using? My Cooper is chambered really dumb! Super short throat. So I have to seat them deep.
