257 Weatherby Mark V

The 300 Win Mag will give you 1.66 times more energy at 500 yards than your 257 WM...(1241 vs. 2066)

Your uncle's 270 gave him 1.65 times more energy at 500 yards than his 257 Roberts...(902 vs. 1497)

I'd say you and your uncle are "even up" in regards to upgrading calibers!
I actually was planning to replace the Weatherby with a 300 PRC, the Win Mag swap has me reconsidering though...

The 300 PRC has 1.11 times more energy at 500 yards than the 300 Win Mag...(2304 vs. 2066)

Let's see...257 WM to a 300 PRC...a difference of 1.85 times more energy at 500 yards...(1241 vs. 2304)

Now you've got bragging rights over your uncle...(wink, wink)

Hahaha

16 pieces of brand new, never fired brass. Six of these have been sized and primed, but I ran out of powder so they were never loaded.
There's several once and twice fired pieces of brass too. Not sure on exact numbers but somewhere around 60+ total pieces of brass loaded or not.
There are 9 rounds of factory Weatherby 100 grainers I never fired.
21 loaded rounds with the Hammer 92gr bullet on top of 73gr ofRL19.
I have 18 Hammer bullets left in the box.
From what I understand, the loaded rounds could be shipped depending on what state regulations are.

Breaking up the package slightly...
Still $1850 for entire package
$1300 + shipping/fees for everything but NOT the Leupold scope - Brass, Dies, Bullets, Scope Rings, Rifle
I'll post more pics this morning.

Ready to hunt with load development complete and loaded rounds included 👍

Darn tooten nice package. It's been said that Roy Weatherby's favorite caliber was his 257 WM. I sometimes wonder what Roy's thinking would be on the wildcat 6.5-300 WM?
I think they screwed that one up and that's why you saw the next 6.5 come out real quick. Have an older buddy who got one and I set it up and sighted it in. Well it was summer and hot and the gun showed over pressure with wby factory rounds. Stuck bolt, imprinted base of case and primer coming out of brass. I stopped and shot it again in cooler weather with no issues but this thing is running on the edge, Gun was vanguard.

This rifle has less than 50 rounds through the barrel. It loves the 92gr Hammer on top of 73gr RL19 and gave me a one hole 3 shot group at 100 yds with that loading.
Selling it because I want to get a bigger bore for elk hunting.
$1300 for rifle ONLY
$2000 for rifle, scope (Leupold VX3i 4.5-14x50 CDS Windplex), rings (Leupold dovetail), reloading dies (RCBS), brass (Weatherby)
Still for sell? Gun only wanted.
