243 ackly

Speaking of fire forming....
In my .260AI, I used my fire forming loads (140 Barnes Match Burner over H4350) to bang steel out to 1400 yards yesterday. Win/win/win. Get practice reading wind and shooting, form some brass, and have a blast at the same time.
I do the same for all my wildcat cases.
I would love to have a 260AI. It's the only 6.5 that interest me. When the barrel wears out on my 6 Remington varmint special It will become one

any one useing this round for deer.looking for imfo on this .a buddy is thinking of building one.

Good deer round, it'll work just fine. Add 75 fps to what the regular 243 will do and that's what you're looking at for sane pressure speeds.

Depending on gun it may or may not feed the best especially if coming out of the box!

Best thing to the round is that trimming goes down to practically nothing so back when we were doing a lot of chuck shooting that was the best thing to it. Aside from that, IME it's not worth it...but I'm in a different stage of life these days as well:)
