I got this Royal Elk on opening day of the muzzelloader season in Co. this year.
Good job. Going for 2nd Rifle this year. What time of day and was he talking much?
Did I say good job.
What are the rifle and load details? how far was the shot? Looks like a smokless to me
T3- I got him at 8:30 am the opening morning, I heard several bulls bugling the 1st hr and they stopped after that. We didnt hear much after that, this one came in silent on me. I heard him break some branches as he came up the ridge to me.
Icanhithimman- i shoot an older Remington 700 ML 50 cal, shooting 338 gr. Platinum Powerbelts with 150 grains of Pydrodex powder. I found the bullet in the hide on the opposite side, it expanded to .9 of an inch mushroom. There wasnt anything fancy about the kill, he came sneaking in on me and busted him at 40 yards with the smokepole. It all happened in less than 30 seconds.
Congrats on a very nice CO bull, hope he has lots of brothers!
Thats a nice bull.Way to go!
Congrats! Nice bull and nice job.
Wow. that is an absolutely amazing bull. Very nice work.
Have you had him scored?
