2 New Savage .308's

A Model 12 F-TR, and a Model 10 FP, both are in .308. I picked both of them up yesterday. Now the fun begins with scope and mount selection, along with putting it all together. I've got some .308 handloads, but I've got nothing but time to hit the press and try and come up with some type of meal they'll both like. I won't be doing any serious shooting with either of them until the Fall when these temperatures break a little. I've got high hopes for the both of these guns, and they are the first Savage bolt guns I have bought. In all of the years I've been seeing them at the range, I really haven't seen a bad one, or an unhappy owner for that matter. Bill T.

Very nice. I'm a big Savage fan too.

I got bit by the barrel swap bug. Now I have two long action savages. One with a standard bolt face and 220 swift, 22-243AI, 270, 308, and 30-06 barrels. The other has a magnum bolt face with 7RM and 300win barrels. As soon as I save some more fun tickets the magnum is getting a 338 Edge barrel.

308 Ftr

I have been shooting with a couple guys on the US F-class team and they are having very good results with the 308 FTR. They are loading the 155's and pushing them really hard witha stiff load of Varget.

That would be great, thanks. Varget seems like about the most universal powder out there for the .308. I'm curious as to what they're loading in these guns. Are they using the 155 Grain Sierra Palma Bullet? Bill T.
