168 Berger and the .308 Winchester?

Personally I have been using a lot of IMR 4895 in the 308 with 130-200 grain bullets. I find I am getting lower SDs, and very good velocity, accurate loads are at 3000 fos with 150s out of a 21" barrel, 2875 with the 165s same gun, at 1/2 MOA accuracy. Give it a try if you have some around. It isn't talked about often in the 308 but I found it far more consistent than Varget. Only issue is you have to meter or throw and trickle up each charge as it, doesn't throw well at all.

Nosler shows max charge IMR 4895 of 43 gr producing 2708 fps in a 24 inch barrel Are you loading hotter?

Not hot rodding it at all. Sticking to Hodgdon published data. Using 44 grains in WW brass, CCI 250 primer 165 grain Horn BTSP 2875, 46 grains in WW brass CCI 250 150 grain Horn SP, 3000 FPS, 47 grains in WW brass CCI 250 130 grain Barns TSX, 3120 fps.. There is no pressure signs on any of these loads, even with one or two more grains of powder. Cases are easily lasting 10 firings with neck sizing only. Velocities have been verified with a Chrony and a Ladradar. They are running a little faster than the published Hodgdon data whereas the Varget loads were running a tad slower than published..
