150 grn ballistic tip

They wouldn't be my first choice for Elk. I would go with a Nosler Partision or some sort
of bonded bullet.

There is and old handload recipie for the 270 win with a 150gr Nosler partition and imr4831 that is supposed to be serious elk medicine that the old timers used. So I'd try the Partition, I would not use a ballistic tip on elk. Use a good controlled expansion bullet.

Accubonds are great for elk. I would never hunt any large animals with a Ballistic Tip after having one disintegrate on the biggest whitetail I've ever shot at. Taken 17 bulls with Accubonds and only had to shoot one twice.
