My journey with the linear compensator started a few years ago with Ruger Charger..little 10-22 pistol. We shoot a lot of ground squirrels on our ranch and that little pistol was too loud to use without hearing protection. Well I bought a little comp for a 5.56, screwed it on the Charger and no more ringing ears. The Witt SME seems to do the same, still need hear/pro but it muffles the tone and blast a bit.

Cool that's what I was hoping to hear! Does it reduce recoil as well? I find my 300 win hard to shoot well but 30-06 is okay, I was hoping to tame the 300 down to 30-06 or maybe even 308 levels. I know that even more reduction is likely possible with a good side port brake but I don't really want to go there, I may also just sell this 300 and go smaller.
