Hi there, Sorry to bother you, but I was just wandering why I've been kicked off UKV for 14 months! I'm more than a bit lost on this one. I didn't contradict the mods (as far as I'm aware) and didn't post anything inflammatory. So why am I not allowed on? Cheers Tiff

    US869 in 30-338/.300 Lapua + 240MK

Thankyou very much for that. I will start at 86gr since my COAL for the 240MK for a 10thou jump is little less at 3.500". Interesting that a newer version of Quickload lists the new lower max pressure of 63,817psi, for my rifle was proofed at 75,000psi for the old max operating pressure of...

    US869 in 30-338/.300 Lapua + 240MK

Yep its just a necked down .338 Lap Mag case. I think I will follow all of your advise and start at 97.0 grains and work up until I reach pressure. Then back it off a bit (is only 50-60 F at the moment) so I don't hit pressure when it warms up....if summer ever does arrive! As for the .300 Lap...

    US869 in 30-338/.300 Lapua + 240MK

That sounds like my best bet:). As for the cartridge its a relatively standard .300 Lapua case. I was kind of hoping that other people might be running the same load, and as such offer a certain 'safety blanket' off which to work base loads. I'm always a little bit reluctant running off loads...

    US869 in 30-338/.300 Lapua + 240MK

Hi Texas Dave, thank you for that reply. It gives me a couple of options with the lighter loads. Unfortunately Steve's data is only regurgitated Vihtavuori .300 Lapua load data......which is the same data that is covered in the 6mmbr article on .30-338! It seems to be that the only...

    US869 in 30-338/.300 Lapua + 240MK

Hi J E Custom, I don't think that would work.....since I'm looking for .30-338 Lapua/.300 Lapua loads. Guessing your referring to .30-338WM loads? I've tried Hodgdon directly and they have no loads on their books... At around $60 per 1 pound tub and $80 for 100 240MK's, I'd rather not use...

    US869 in 30-338/.300 Lapua + 240MK

I'm currently loading 208 A-Max's with 86.0gr of RL25 in my 30-338 Lapua/.300Lapua. However I have run out of these bullets/powder and all my local gunrooms (within 100miles) are out of RL25!! I do however have some 240grain MK's and US869, so would like to load some up with this for target...

The Army Test New Long Range Bullet

Hi britz I'm guessing your referring to Sir Barnes Wallis an English scientist....His most famous cylindrical bombs were used in operation Chastise, AKA 'The Dam Busters'. He also designed the 'Highball' bombs that are dimpled, much like modern golf balls/the basis of this article. More info...

    30-338 Lapua Load Help Please

Hi 436 I'll drop him a line...Guess that's the difference between US & UK gunsmiths. Over here a lot would want paying before giving out such information! Anyone on here have any load data please?

    30-338 Lapua Load Help Please

Hi there, I'm after 'real world' figures from people that actually shoot this round. That link doesn't have much apart from the VV .300 Lapua data....which is very high pressure at the top ends. I'm a little nervous about supply loads 10% above those top loads from just a bit of paper. So...

    30-338 Lapua Load Help Please

I need some help with any loads for a 30-338 Lapua (AKA .300 Lapua) please. Mine has a .344 neck and 0.188 freebore. I have to supply the proof house with a moderate top load and then 5% & 10% above this. I am not allowed to shoot the rifle first, so cannot work up a load for it...

    30-338 Lapua - Necking down 338 to 30cal

I need a bit of help sourcing the dies for necking down .338 Lapua case necks to .30cal. I've been following the guide on 6mmbr Loading for the 30-338 Lapua It's the Hornady die in step one that I'm confued over...Is it this die without the expander mandrel in...

Custom Actions for .338 Lapua Boltface-weather resistant

Sako TRG 42 - Very nice smooth action and good ergonomic stocks as well. With the strength of the dollar I'm surprised your not all buying up the s/h ones here in the UK. Complete rifles in mint condition can be had for under $2,000!
