Gidday steve7mm08. Shot fallow spiker yesterday at 140yd straight broadside and shot placement bout 4inch behind frontleg line so could call it a rear lung shot. Bullet pased through middle of both lugs and out she goes. Deer travels about 250yds and finally dies. No blood trail though even with exit hole size of $2 coin. Gutted deer and lungs had hole right through both lungs but damage was far from impressive. Shot from tikka 7mm08 120ttsx. 44grn h335 doing just over 3000. Thinking these maybe to much bullet on fallow if not shooting bone. Will try some 116gscustom and see if loosing petals in the vitals proves a better option. Im certain it will prove a lot better option. What are your thoughts.
