Sounds like I will have to spend a little cash. I did fL size about 15 cases wich totally solved my sticky bolt problem however I have know idea how far the sholder moved this resulted in a high ES and low volocities. Im wondering if I go back to the neck sizer on these brass if my load will...
Decided to bed my B&C stock this week end with devcon. wow its a different rifle it improved the group dramaticly the gun even seems to recoil differently with less barrel jump. I think with a little more load tuneing I will have it beat.
I repaced my wood stock on my mkV sporter with a bell and carlson medelist. I am having a hard time getting it to group. two out of five shots always tight somtimes three but always at least two flyers. wondering if a skim bed will improve this problem? Also weatherby has a pressure point on...
I have switched to neck sizeing in all my bolt action rifles with great results. Just wondering is I should be full sizing after a number of fireings in order to bump the sholder back. I have had some cases that were siticky during retraction even at min load specs with cases properly trimed...
I am loading the 200 accubond with reloader 22 in my 300 mag. I think that I am getting close to the most accurate powder load and soon will be ajusting my seatind depth. Wondering if eneyone has any advice on the distance I shoud be from the lands. My test load were 0.015 off. I am not shure if...
WHEN IT COMES TO LENGTHING the bolt stop grove should I compare the grove length to another bolt or just measure the bulkhead I am looking for the correct length to make the slot.
I have a mark 5 chambered in 300 win mag and I am restricted when it comes to COAL. the action is the same length as the wtby chambering but there is a spacer built into the magazine. I would like to remove this spacer and cut the bolt stop grove longer on the bottem of the bolt. Has anyone out...
My mark 5 is a 300 win mag and I would like to remove the magazine block off to take advantage of this actions true length. it looks like the bolt stop grove will need to be extended not shure how much? Is there anything else to consider?
I shoot the 95 berger VLD with 48 Gn H1000 ave 2950fps 0.015 off the lands. this load groups .400 @ 100. I think nosler recomends .015-0.030 but evey rifle is different.
Reloading is a varry rewarding practice. My advice would be to read LOTS and keep a good log This will help you to compose the most accurate loads. As far as componets go I would suggest sticking to a heaver bullet for the ranges you discribed. Evey gun is different It is just a matter of...
What is a good over the counter rifle that can handle my desire to shoot handloads useing VLD bullets? somthing chambered in 300 win mag with a LONG magazine. A 1000 yard peice in that $1500 range
