Custom Barrelled Action vs Full Custom Build

Many thanks! It's great to see Kevin so busy as its a testament to his work...but it's tough as he is in such high demand I have to plan ahead on these builds in order to get in line. I think $250 for the bedding job on top of a Barrelled action is very reasonable.

Custom Barrelled Action vs Full Custom Build

I really appreciate the insight! I am leaning this way, just need to figure out what cartridge I want to build. That's going to be the most challenging part.

Custom Barrelled Action vs Full Custom Build

All, I am trying to save some money and was considering buying a custom Barrelled action and placing it in the stock myself. First, wondering if accuracy will be the same as a full custom build assuming I buy a good quality stock. Second, is there anything I need to know should I decide...

300 win mag vs 300 rum

If you reload your own ammo, the 300 Norma Mag is supposed to be pretty awesome. Finding brass and dies for it is a challenge I believe (just guessing as I looked into a custom 300 Norma mag about 6 months ago, it was difficult then).

    Scope for sheep rifle

Unfortunately I did not get that model... I got version 2 that give me 50 yard marks to 300 from my zero, then 25 yard marks to the end of the turn, which for me is about 750 yards If you go to the Swarovski page, click on blogs, then click on bt cap or something like that, you can navigate...

    Scope for sheep rifle

I literally just got the brand new custom turret and there are three options... Option 3 gives you yardage but also gives you quarter moa hash marks in between yardage. I would agree, definitely not ideal but for that scope, it's probably sufficient since the elevation adjustment is limited to a...

    Scope for sheep rifle

Technically you could make the appropriate changes with the numbered BT as it could potentially still show quarter moa hash marks... Just count the clicks and your off to the races... The only limit is the BT is restricted to one full turn, which gets my 300 WSM out to about 750 yards

300 win mag vs 300 rum

Totally agree... For me... I wanted the ballistics, no matter the recoil or barrel life

300 win mag vs 300 rum

I think this question is in the wrong topic/section of the website... However, I can honestly say it's all a matter of how heavy your rifle is and how "allergic" you are to recoil. I have both and I use the RUM when shooting distance...Plus the ballistics are amazing

Spend my money please...Spotting Scope Help

Thank you for the input...I called a few places and they all said the same thing basically...go with the ATX if you can afford it and in the 65mm...the 65mm will be nearly as good as the 85 with a lot less weight Would you agree with the 65 vs 85 comparison?

    Scope for sheep rifle

I see your point... I don't shoot long enough ranges at sheep to need major atmosphere changes...What power is the mark 4?

Spend my money please...Spotting Scope Help

Thanks for the info... I am kinda thinking you're right about the Vortex. I have and most likely will not be able to get a Swarovski and a Kowa side by side by the time I leave for my trip... Hoping I can get some good advice from folks that have used both Once again, I appreciate your help!
