    Garmin Xero C1 Pro

Don’t get me wrong, I happen to love using Garmin products, and customer support isn’t bad either. I also use them on a daily basis in aviation, my boat and on my wrist. I just hate seeing a small company come in, make a product that works amazing, but has a high price point. Garmin jumps in and...

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro

Be careful what you wish for, big companies have a way of driving out competitors, then have no way to repair their product, leaving you forced to upgrade every few years…we’ll see I guess.

    Help- my gun won’t group

I see this all of the time, not all blue prints are equal, there are so many things it could be. It takes me a day just to analyze a firearm for issues. My philosophy is it’s broke until I have verified that it’s not. I have seen 10k rifles come to my bench that had something incredibly simple...

    Rem 700 308 hb

Hi, I was just perusing the morning articles as part of my morning routine and I came across this listing. If you end up having issues finding this, let me know. I’m a manufacturer and gunsmith and I have all of the parts to put a heavy barrel .308 together, as a matter of fact I’ve been...

    silencer central

I was trying to figure out how to say to this in a polite way. Not all gunsmiths machine the same, I know someone asked about the process, that’s the key! I could thread a muzzle in less than 5 min, and charge $20 if you didn’t care about precision single point cutting. I’m not saying the $150...

Bad barrel? Borescope vids. Opinions wanted.

I hate to tell you but, that rifle will never shoot well. That’s a crooked chamber. One of the reasons I won’t even offer the service to my customers.

Is it possible for the bore and the chamber to be non-concentric ?

Just to show the bore in relation to the OD of a barrel and then the difference between a lapped bore on factory rifle before and after pics. Also, the expectation should be less than .0001 runout on axial alignment which starts on the bolt face of the receiver all the way to the end of the cut...

    First custom rifle questions

Here’s the thing, there are several ways to skin this cat, find a gunsmith that will walk you through them. Doing it yourself, not a great idea, not only can be dangerous but you have no support when something does go wrong, and it will. Also believe me when I say screwing a barrel and receiver...

christensen arms ridgeline, I need help.

What most people don’t understand is that sub moa, guarantee is with one specific projectile. I see people all the time that have these factory rifles with a guarantee moa, and they are not inherently accurate rifles, meaning able to shoot a wide variety bullets accurately, which a custom rifle...

    CLR and Chrome Moly Barrels

Also, CLR is awesome if used correctly, I see people use it and then do not clean with alcohol after. It’s also important to remember not all blueing or metal for that matter is created equal. I’ve seen very benign chemicals take blueing right off, to the point where I have to re-blue, not cool.

    Perplexed, need some pro advice

Confidence, confidence in your equipment and yourself is everything. You can’t become a confident shooter until you are confident in your equipment. I have sat down with countless people put them behind a rifle that will shoot a 1/4 inch at 300 yards, show them what the rifles capabilities are...

    Perplexed, need some pro advice

Don’t waste your money on anything other than a lab radar chrono. As you say you want to improve long range skills. Then spend the money otherwise you are gonna be chasing your tail.

    Rifle accuracy.

Bullet stability, there are a few books out there that really dive into the topic, and if I’m honest, some of it goes over my head, but I get the general principles. Terminal ballistics is a whole other animal, and it’s something you will need to start applying if you want to start shooting...

    Rifle accuracy.

A 100 yard test will not give you valid results for a long range platform. I have tested rifles that will shoot 1/4 moa at a hundred then open to 5 inches at 300y. I’ve also seen 3/4 moa rifles at a 100y shoot the same group at 300y. I would say a little more testing is in your future. If you...
