I always seem to like the highest power available, even at 100 yards when I am at the range and trying to make a small group. For me this is 22x from my nightforce NXS.
I know when hunting, you lose field if view but sometimes wonder if this is a mistake to use the highest power.

I have a Sendero II in 7mag. It shoots fine but if I wanted to convert it to a 7-300, is it worth reaming the factory barrel? It only has about 120 rounds down it so far.
Also, Are reamers available to rent or would I have to purchase one?
Thanks!
My new Sendero 7mag maxes out early too.
I tried H1000 recently and started with 68 grains. Bolt was just barely sticky. At 68.5 it was requiring quite a bit of resistance. Velocity at 68 was 2916 and 68.5 2950 if memory Steve's me correctly. I plan on trying some more at 67.5 grains.

Hornady Brass

I agree. Maybe it will get faster with more rounds down range. Already has about 75 rounds through it.
Also. With the 168 Berger VLD classic hunter, If I loaded to SAMMI length of 3.290, it would be jammed about .020. Maybe it has a shorter throat. I'm going with about .040 jump.
I have no experience with the 24" barrel and have not tried h1000 yet. Finally got 2 lbs.
My results are :

It can also vary with caliber.
In 270, the 130 classic hunter has a better BC as well as the hybrid nose design. No downside in my opinion.
In 7mm, the classic hunter gives up a small amount in BC but gains the hybrid nose and should be more forgiving with reloading depth. It is also short...
