Without a doubt the funniest thing ever

That is really hilarious and really, really sad all at the same time. These people want users to jump through a million friggin hoops so that someone does not blow his/her leg off with an empty piece of brass. Come to think of it I would hate to be held liable for something like that. Gimme a...

    Help with my gun idea.

Seems like a Rem Sendero would be a good starting point. Weight would be a little under 10 lbs I believe. A good smith could take care of the magazine and action work. Just my .02, hope it helps. Philip

    Bushnell Elite 3200 7-21x40???

Hey I was just on Cabelas website and they had a 7-21x40 Mildot Elite 3200. This seems like an odd power choice and I could not find one on any other sites (SWFA, Midway, Bass Pro). Can anyone validate this or was it a typo. Thanks, Philip

Opinions of the Choate varmint stock?

Duff, I grew up in Bald Knob, AR (location of Choate Machine and Tool Co.) and have a family friend that has worked for Choate for over 20 years. He was one of the "testers" of the Varmint and Sniper stocks. He let me shoot each and I really liked them. They are a little on the heavy side...

Is barrel break-in really needed for factory guns?

Goodgrouper, Thanks for your advice. I bought a Rem. 700 BDL from the same smith about 6 years ago. He bedded the action, did a trigger job, and hand lapped the barrel. That 300 win-mag shot into just over an inch at 200 yards out of a sporter barrel. He is really good at what he does...

Is barrel break-in really needed for factory guns?

If I have my gunsmith lap my factory barrel, is there still any need for a break in period? It seems that it would still be needed because there have not been any shots fired, so the barrel has not been subjected to high heat/pressure. If I would still need to break in the barrel, should I...

    How Long is "LongRange"?

Like k2 said, it all depends on the shooter. i would agree that 350 yards is long range for those who have not put in the range time to be proficient at 6-700 yards or more, (myself included). My personal long range is about 400 yards. This is the farthest that I have the confidence to shoot...

    Wisconsin Tragedy

CNN is already eating this up. Supposedly an SKS is an extremely high powered assault rifle equipped with a "deer-scope." SKS hunters are the exception, not the rule, definately not common. Prayers and condolences to the families of the hunters. Philip
