I'm reading through this thread again, as I recently purchased my first "decent" rifle, a Tikka T3X. Want to make sure I don't mess it up by breaking it in wrong, or not at all. You're talking about "smoothing out" reamer marks. Tikka barrels are cold forged. There shouldn't be any reamer...

Ok, I'm purchasing tomorrow. Got delayed by about a month with "life", but I'm going with Tikka T3x lite Veil, so it comes with a fluted & Threaded barrel, ceracoated, and muzzle brake. I've decided to go with the 270 winchester. I'm also going with a tract toric scope. 2.5-15 X44 FFP MOA.

I just ordered a Tikka T3x lite in 270 Win. Ordering a Tract Toric to go on it. It's a bit north of the price point though. I'm Lefty, and many of the Tikka models are only available RH. I really wanted a Sako S20. I feel so cheated.

Oh, and regarding "the lords cartridge". I'll fully admit this is foolish thinking, but I view the 30-06 as "too common". I know, there are plenty of good reasons for this, and I'm not trying to knock it, or offend those that shoot it. I guess it's sort of like never ordering vanilla ice...

Yeah, I didn't include that in the specs. I will be getting a threaded barrel, with a brake. The plan is to put a suppressor on it, but in Wisconsin that's a fairly involved application process that can take 4-6 months. A brake to start.

Nothing except air get through the water. You do need to periodically change the water. I dump it after every use, or it gets funky
