    Drew Oryx-NR-Off Range

Justin Medina owner operator of http://arrowheadoutfitters.net/index.html Solid Christian dude (not that it matters to me) smart, hardworking, hustler, willing to give advice, and stupid in shape. I never hired guide till I left AK. Unfortunately, with a job, lack of familiarity with Geo...

    Drew Oryx-NR-Off Range

The guide was excellent, made me work, and was not afraid to "guide" me to success. :D. If I draw Elk or Bighorn, I will use him. Some guides like consultants are too afraid to offend of potentially offend their clients by providing instruction/tips.

    Drew Oryx-NR-Off Range

I did fill my tag, I ended up taking the 6.5 SST running the 156 gr Berger at about 2970. Double Lung, Heart, pass through at 215 yards, walked about 15 yards and collapsed. Much harder to hunt than I thought due to terrain and animal behavior.

    6.5x284 close range shot

This the exact round I have used in my 6.5x47L running 2950, does exactly that too the lungs. Great combo.

    Re-Barrel-28 Nosler-Which barrel?

Always been a finicky gun, and am ready to re-barrel and going to a 28 Sherman. Had a recommendation from some for X-Caliber (no firsthand knowledge) Bartlein, and Benchmark. Any favorites among those three or others I should look at? Being utilized as a Elk/Muley/Mtn gun.

Disappointed with the Berger 156 grain EOL

Just shot an Oryx with 156 gr 6.5SST at 215 traveling 2970. No slug recovery, wen through and through, second animal the 156 exited... Oryx went about 15 yds. Will keep using the 156's in the 6.5SST, the 130VLD in the 6.5x47 and the 195's in the 28 until they stop killing stuff dead.

6.5 sst (sherman short tactical) arrived

Well my 6.5SST did its job on the Oryx hunt this year... Berger EOL 156gr 215 yards, double lung/heart, pass through both side, no slug recovery, 15 yds and dead

Should we start to boycot these high prices?

Show me on Arnold Alaska doll where the bad man touched you. That sentiment is shared by the AK guides I have spoke with, and friends who live there that understand the reality of the situation. While I, others, certainly, have do, and will hunt for meat, there is nothing illegal or wrong with...

    Drew Oryx-NR-Off Range

After what it seems like 100 years submitting for Oryx I have finally drawn. I will be guided in November, off range. I have two rifles that are suitable for this... Both shoot their preferred loads lights out, both are reliable with quality glass. Do I go with the 28 Nosler running 195...
