Heys folk, I have a quick question. I'm beginning to build up my reloading equipment, and I was wondering what your thoughts are on buying used dies over the web, such as ebay, c-list, forum classifieds, or the growing popular facebook buy& sell pages. The dies I would be looking for are 223...
Thanks for the advice guys. I was lucky enough to get a good shot on a nice 130" 10 pt Oklahoma whitetail, so I think it's back to bow & rifle for the time being. Once the seasons are over, I'll do some playing and report back with what I find out. gun)
I'll probably try to shoot some groups with cleaning after every shot.
I'm using new CCI primers.
The shockwaves were about my only option to use 3 days before my hunt. Living in a town without much selection. Wal Mart only had Shockwaves in stock.... I definitely going to look into...
I'm having difficulties with my CVA muzzleloader. It's a CVA Kodiak .50cal. I honestly can't get it to hold 6-8" groups at 100 yards. Shooting 250gr T.C. Shockwave sabot bullets with 100 grains of Triple 7 pellets. I cleaned it about every 4-5 shots, but it seems to be the same- clean or dirty...
6x6, thanks for the pick, but I'll post a pic of what I'm talking about
You can see, it seems pretty similar to the normal setup, but the studs are screwed into the sides. I'm just wondering what the benefits are for the method, and the proper way of carrying this rifle.
I've seen several newer rifles with sideways mounted sling studs, and I assume it's becoming a new trend. My question is: How do most people carry rifles with a sideways sling? Also, are there any special tricks to installing sling studs in this manor? Specifically on a Savage 116 w/ an Accustock.
I'm looking into buying a good safe to store my guns. However, I'm in the mood for something different also, and was looking for ideas.
For instance, my uncle recently built a large portion onto his house. He added 2 concrete tornado/safe rooms, one for the family and one for the guns.
Anybody...
I technically "lease" my hunting land, but I basically rent it as profitable farm land. My family has farmed the land I hunt on for 50+ years. The actual owners live somewhere out in Cali, so all I ever send them is a check and they send me a tax form. If it were to come up for sale, I would buy...
Long story short, I bought one for $20 yesterday evening. Panther DPMS.
At the NRA banquet last night, I bought 2 chances for $10 a piece, and they drew my name! Won a Panther DPMS. It's pretty plain and boring, but the price I paid gives me lots of room to upgrade. gun)
Living in Cordell OK, I'd say around 25 solids, with 40 mph gusts, it's stay home. This goes for shooting, hunting, fishing, driving, farming, feeding hay, stargazing, sitting on the front porch, etc...
I simply boiled the head in a big turkey fryer, then hit it with a power washer. After 3 cycles of boiling for an hour, then power washer, it was 100% clean. I let them soak in a big bowl of 3% hydrogen peroxide for 2 days, then they were done.
After doing some thinking, I finally decided how I wanted to display a couple deer heads I needed to do a European mount with. I had some old barn wood, so I fashioned up a neat display board.
Best part is, my wife liked it enough, it's in the living room!
Let me know what you guys think!
I thought I would have something like this when my wife and I moved into our new house a few months ago. It quickly got filled up and turned into a craft room.
