    California J19/X7A

Thank you. My son and I scouted over the weekend and saw 3 does in the morning (one with a gps collar) and then later saw a little forky hanging out with a doe. We expected to see more sign but we didn't. I guess on the next outing we'll try the opposite side of the zone. Overall, it was fun and...

    California J19/X7A

On my son's first try he drew a junior tag J19 which is also X7A here in California. Season doesn't start until October 7th. We plan to scout at least three times (6 days total) before season starts. Anyone that has hunted the zone willing to provide some pointers of where to focus our scouting...

    Favorite anti-cant level

    I found a 3" T25 bit. Looks pretty skinny and I think it'll fit.

    Favorite anti-cant level

Did you have to use a special tool or bit too torque the screws right below the bubble? I'm thinking about getting these offset rings but I think the torx bit that came with my wheeler FAT wrench might have trouble going straight down. The tool or the bit would hit the bubble level unless there...

Because I feel like an 85gr out of a huge case like the PRC is a mismatch. The jump would be pretty far I bet. If I was going to shoot an 85gr bullet that would be for my grendel that I sold or a 243 that I used to own a long time ago.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions and information. I was able to find a box of Hornady CX and a friend of mine had some Barnes LRX for me to try out. Hopefully my gun likes these bullets so I don't have to waste too much component. Oh, and I agree with Ucsdryder, gotta stop the bullying...

    I don't have a 6.5-284, a 6.5PRC is what I have. Anyways thanks.

That is true. I was looking at Hammer bullets and the BC are pretty low. There are so many choices and I'm taking all responses from everyone and use it to see how it fits me and my budget.

    21st Century Expander Die

Over the weekend I was able to pick up a 21st Century Expander Die locally from a yard sale. The die body does not have a window cut-out where I can easily see. My question is how to set this up without crushing brass? I checked the 21st Century website, but I couldn't find a "how to". Does it...

I have a 6.5 PRC in 1:8 twist. I am starting to hunt blacktails in Northern CA. I hear friends and relatives mention they sometimes see deer 7-800 yards. I still need to find me a range where I can practice shooting those distances.
