well, i snatched my friends 300rum from him today and went to my shooting range. i did find that his scope was canted a bit. i took an 8' level and put it out at 200 yards, and then put a level on his scope base. using this technique i noticed his scope was off by about what looked like two...

i have never ran into this kind of problem. i always level my scopes by putting a level on my action or scope base and putting a 4' level out at 300yards and just line up the cross hairs vertically. i would like to try the technique of using a weighted rope and lining up the cross hair to it...

he does level his scope with a double bubble level kit. (one on the action and one on the top of the scope turret). i may have to show him how to level his scope the Right way. i dont think highly of the double level kit that he thinks the world of. lol. after i do that i will have him shoot...

this is true, canting the rifle would cause this. i always shoot with a bubble level.....they dont. how unlevel would the crosshairs have to be to create such a bullet drift at 800yards? should be noticeable....right?

i have a couple of friends with an odd problem that i dont know the answer to. their long range setups is the exact same setup which is: a factory remington 300 ultra mag with the fluted varmint contour barrels. they are both shooting 210gr bergers with 92gr of h1000(velocity ~3050fps) fed 215m...

lets see here.... neck down 300wsm norma brass, ream inside neck, and fireform. would this be better than lotting out and brass prep on the Win 7wsm brass? i cant decide... anyone get good accuracy out of Win brass for the 7wsm?

any word on these berger .277 bullets yet. ive got a 270wsm and cant wait for these to come out!! the wait is killing me. im curious what the b.c. will be on these bullets. i shoot the 140gr nosler accubond (.496 bc)in front of 60gr of imr4350 @ 3150fps

if i were to build a 7mm300wsm should i neck down the 300wsm norma brass or neck up the 270wsm norma brass? seeing how norma brass is thick in the neck anyway, i was just thinking it might be better just to neck up the 270wsm brass.... or should i skip that mess and just order a plain 7wsm...

24.5gr to 25gr of varget seems to be the sweet spot for a savage .223 1:9 twist barrel. i use win brass,fed 205m primer, and .025 off lands
